Advanced 3D Imaging for Complex Cases
Our 160 slice human-grade helical CT scanner reveals what X-rays can’t see—creating hundreds of detailed cross-sectional images in seconds, getting answers for you and your family veterinarian quickly and accurately.

The Helical CT Advantage
Unlike two-dimensional X-rays, CT builds a complete 3D view of your pet’s body, allowing us to identify cancerous tumors, internal injuries, and other abnormalities with clarity. This non-invasive procedure is performed under sedation or general anesthesia, ensuring perfect stillness for crystal-clear images. Our team will carefully monitor your pet throughout the entire process, using advanced anesthetic monitoring for the safest experience possible.
Helical CT vs Cone Beam CT (CBCT)
Our 160 slice helical CT (the type used in most human hospitals) is faster, more powerful, and versatile than cone beam CT and slower helical CT offered in other veterinary clinics.
- Helical CT captures excellent detail of both soft tissues and bone, while cone beam CT is really only good for bones and teeth. This means helical CT can help diagnose diseases that cone beam CT may miss.
- Speed & Coverage: Helical CT can scan the whole body quickly in a continuous spiral, so it’s efficient for larger areas or multiple regions. CBCT is slower and usually limited to small areas like the head or jaw. Our 160 slice helical CT also acquires images faster than other helical CT scanners, limiting motion artifacts and keeping scan times low.
- Image Quality: Helical CT provides clearer, more consistent images, especially for soft tissue and contrast studies, which are essential in many medical cases.
When Your Vet May Recommend CT:
- Skull and nasal diseases (tumors, inflammatory, or infectious conditions)
- Orthopedic disease (elbows, hips, complex fractures)
- Pre-surgical planning
- Trauma
- Spinal disease and some tumors
- Cancer staging
- Vascular diseases (portosystemic shunts, vascular anomalies)
